Past Events:
A look back at some of the past projects and Events Making Space has been involved in…
The Leigh Park History Project 2009-2011
The Leigh Park History Project was funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and has been the largest project organised by Making Space.
In May 2009, Ami Lowman, Heritage Project Worker was appointed and her enthusiasm and ability to work with others immediately encouraged different groups and individuals across Leigh Park to get involved in a variety of workshops and events. This project has made a difference: people have enjoyed learning about the history of Leigh Park. Communities have worked together and residents have discovered facts, celebrated their stories and interpreted these visually and creatively by working with professional makers and historians.

Animation Workshop
We recently ran a project called Hampshire Young Creatives where local young people who are not in full time work or education had a chance to try their hand at various craft techniques including screen printing, fused glass and jewellery. They also did a couple of workshops with Paul Gonella of Strong Island Media making some short animations.
Here is a link to their short films -
