Outreach
Making Space is a creative community and we believe in working within our community to make the arts accessible to everyone. We work in schools, at family centres, with young parents, with community groups, with health centres and with the Wessex Youth Offending Team (YOT).
We are an Arts Award Centre and we have been working in partnership with the Wessex YOT for the last eighteen months with a number of young people achieving their Bronze Award.
Interested in organising your own creative project?
Making Space can help…
As well as our outreach work we also help schools, community groups and other organisations work with professional artists, we regularly get approached to organise an art event, project or residency.
Previous projects/workshops have included a bespoke sculpture to mark 120 years of a primary school, a mural project to brighten up a play groups outside space, craft sessions with the W.I., after school craft clubs, Olympic celebration projects and much much more. Making Space is able to offer a professional service including initial site visits, project proposals, budgeting, contracts, organising materials, support throughout the project and liaising with a professional artist or maker. If you have something in mind or would like more details/budget ideas please get in touch to find out more.
On a smaller scale Making Space is also able to create a bespoke creative experience for almost any occasion or celebration. Why not ask us to organise a crafty kids birthday party or a hen party afternoon activity. We can create a unique event to suit your needs and budget. Please contact outreach@makingspace.org for more information.
