All adult Saturdays are £40 per day (including most materials) unless stated otherwise. Workshops run 10am-3pm. 10 places only so booking is essential.

Reclaimed Jewellery
with Ami Lowman
Do you collect old pieces of jewellery or have boxes of old buttons, broken jewellery and trinkets? If so, then this workshop is a must for you! Learn how to incorporate all your old treasures into something new and exciting. Participant must bring along a collection of things to reinvent.

Bangles
with Sharon Justice
Come away from this workshop with at least one bangle made in silver. You will be taken through the process of how to make your bangle and encouraged to come up with your own design. Most materials supplied, but please bring along any metal you wish to incorporate into your design; more materials will be available to buy if needed.

Small Scale Ceramics

Small is beautiful! Forget large pots; learn to make a range of ceramic jewellery, buttons, and gift/greeting cards from clay.

Kumihimo is a form of Japanese braiding. Learn this ancient art to create beautiful decorative & functional braids. These braids can then be made into simple bracelets or more complex jewellery designs.

Decorative Fused Glass

The perfect day for people who have done previous glass courses at Making Space. Work on your own projects assisted by Kate O’Connell. Design your own jewellery, coasters, small tiles etc. Cost covers most materials but more glass will be available to purchase if your designs are a bit more ambitious.

Try this versatile and unique way of making silver jewellery. Model the precious metal clay into any shape, just like normal clay, before firing it in the kiln. You’re left with a really individual piece in 99% pure silver to take away on the day. ** This workshop is £80 due to the high cost of the materials.

Stone Carved Candle Holders

Learn the basics of stone carving through this one day course, suitable for beginners and people who have attended a stone carving course before. At the end of the day you will have made a candle holder from natural Bath stone with your very own designed pattern relief carved around the outside.

Dry Point Etching
with Tozzy Bridger
Take your drawings to the next level… Etch and inscribe your own dry point etchings and print them through a miniature printing press. The results are fine line images that can be used in a variety of ways for many different projects.

Ceramic Gifts and Jewellery
with Tessa Wolfe-Murray
This is a great workshop for people wanting to make their own gifts and alternative small jewellery pieces like brooches, pendants and earrings. Using clay and a variety of different techniques you will be taught and encouraged to design your own pieces which can also be glazed to add colourful touches.

Architectural Textures
with Wendy Dolan
Architecture is the inspiration for this workshop. Fabrics will be pieced, layered and stitched to create a textured background. This textured surface will then be painted and worked into with freehand machine embroidery. Participants must bring along their own sewing machines.

Try your hand at this fun and unique technique of making jewellery. Covering all the basics of cutting glass and how the process works, you will then get a chance to design and assemble your own pieces. Great for beginners or those wanting to further their skills and have another go.
