Become a Trustee at Making Space 

Help shape the future of a creative, inclusive community in Hampshire.
Making Space is a small but ambitious arts charity dedicated to providing high‑quality craft education,
artist support, and creative opportunities for people of all ages. We
believe in the power of making — to build confidence, connection, and community.
We are looking for new trustees to join our board and help guide the next stage of our
development. You don’t need previous board experience — what matters most is your commitment
to creativity, community, and good governance.
​We’re particularly interested in people with skills or experience in:
• Fundraising / income generation
• Marketing, communications, or digital engagement
• Legal / Governance expertise
• HR advice / strategy

As a trustee, you will:
• Help set our strategy and ensure we deliver meaningful impact
• Support our small staff team
• Champion good governance and financial sustainability
• Bring your perspective, ideas, and lived experience to the table
Time commitment:
• There are 5 scheduled meetings per year (evenings, hybrid options available)
• Occasional support between meetings depending on your interests
This is a voluntary role, but it offers rich rewards: the chance to support local makers, nurture creativity, and help a small charity thrive.
