Chairperson Trustee – Role Description
Are you passionate about changing lives and empowering our community through contemporary and traditional craft? Then consider joining us as Chairperson of Making Space.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and skilled volunteer to join our Board of Trustees as Chairperson. Together, we’ll champion the power of craft to inspire, connect, and create opportunities for the people in our community.
About Making Space
We are a small charity based in Havant, Hampshire. At Making Space, our purpose-built studios in Leigh Park, we raise the profile of craft in all its forms as we champion creativity, community engagement and wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates:
Time Commitment
Around 2-3 days per month, including quarterly Board meetings (remote and in-person) and occasional events.
Diversity & Inclusion
We value diverse perspectives and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those underrepresented in the craft sector and those who have a lived experience in an area of deprivation.
What next?
If you share our passion for craft and want to help shape the future of Making Space, we’d love to hear from you! You should also take a look at the NVCO information about being a chairperson.
