crafting respite - PHASE 2 |
The next phase of Crafting Respite is here thanks to generous funding from Awards for All. Over the next 2 years Making Space are looking to work with 25 participants a year. Beneficiaries will get various inspiring opportunities to get creative with us. From accessing our Continued Learning Programme to bespoke creative workshops with professional makers. This opportunity is for those that have full time care responsibilities for a spouse, parent or child. To find out more please click on the link below.

CREATIVE FUTURES - CRAFT PATHWAYS |
Making Space is delighted to launch an inspiring 2-year project funded by The Peter Harrison Foundation for 16-25yr olds. Designed to transform potential into opportunity by empowering young creatives to shape fulfilling futures in the arts and creative industries.
Creative Futures – Craft Pathways will support young creatives to develop skills and confidence, illuminate and open doors to further education, apprenticeships, work experience and employment leading to careers in the creative industries. |

Making Space is delighted to announce a fantastic opportunity funded by The Welland Trust Charity. We are looking for care experienced people who will join us for free bursary placements on our creative programme and an opportunity to get together for those that want to.
We define 'Care Experienced' as someone who has lived in care at any point in their life. This includes foster care, residential care, kinship care, or at home with a supervision order. |

crafting respite - PHASE 1 |
Crafting Respite was a creative programme of activity specifically for those that have caring responsibilities (looking after a child, parent or significant other etc) funded by The Portsdown Art Society. Making Space hosted 6 creative sessions covering a range of activity including: collage, embroidery, print, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. We established a group of 10 participants aged 16+ who joined for the entirety of the programme. The project took place from May - July 2025.
